STATISTICS, EXPLAINED

I've been a long-time reader of Number 2 Pencil, a blog by Kimberly Swygert. She's a Psychometrician, who describes her work:
My job is similar to other jobs in my field in that it requires a Ph.D. in Quantitative Psychology, Educational Measurement, or Psychometrics, and that my work requirements include both theoretical research and operational duties. Translated, that means I must spend time thinking up new ways of assessing people and also make sure that the current tests we use get administered and scored on time.

A feature that she's been periodically updating is explanations of common statistics terms and concepts, for example, this discussion of probabilities. Browse the archives, I've found the posts to be both entertaining and understandable to novices.
